About the mission: Spinifex Ministrie's foremost goal is to provide pastoral care to those we help. Many times, when we meet up with the missionaries or pastors, we can spend a lot of time just listening, talking , encouraging and fellowshipping with them.
Mission Statement: The purpose of Spinifex Ministries is to further the work of the Gospel of Jesus Christ by providing pastoral care and building and property maintenance to evangelical Christian missions, individuals and churches that are ministering to Aboriginal people or to people in remote and Origin: Spinifex Ministries was formed in 2002 following the vision Phil & Cathy had while in MMM seeing the need for a personal, pastoral care ministry. Since January 2004, Spinifex Ministries has been operating as a support to evangelical Christian missions, individuals and churches that are ministering to Aboriginal people or to people in remote and isolated areas of Australia. Where Does Spinifex Ministries Operate?: Spinifex Ministries operates in areas where pastoral care to those in ministry is limited or unavailable. For the most part, we predominantly focus on the Northern Territory and the North of Western Australia. How Does Spinifex Ministries Operate? As pastoral care is all about relationships, we revisit the same ministers/missionaries each year to strengthen the relationships that we have established. We also keep on top of their maintenance each year so that they canfocus more on their ministry and not have to worry about the maintenance of their church or mission home. Accountability: Phil & Cathy are committed to serve the Lord through Spinifex Ministries, and are therefore accountable to Him through a managing committee: Advisory Council, which is made up of ex and current Ministers and Missionaries of various evangelical denominations. Partnership Team - People who have caught the vision and are supporting Phil & Cathy In 2003, Phil was appointed as the "Pastoral Assistant" at the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Kelmscott, WA. In March 2004, Phil was ordained as a Minister of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. www.pastornet.net.au/wpc/index.html
