A Brief History of WPC and WPC Bullcreek In 1949, Mary Jones, daughter of an evalengical Presbterian minister went to minister to the aboriginal people in the country district of Brookton, 180km east of Perth. After calls for assistance from the World Presbyterian Missions, Barbara and David Cross were sent to WA in 1970 to work in Brookton. They also started a Bible study in Perth which eventually resulted in the first WPC congregation at Caversham. The congregation later moved to Koongamia and was pastored by Warren Myers. In 1978 the church moved to Maida Vale under the pastoral care of Derek Jones. The Brookton church then became known as the Calvary Presbyterian Church. In 1976 WPC Bull Creek was started by Barbara and David Cross on Sunday 1st February. The Lord blessed their work abundantly and this church grew rapidly. The Crosses left WPC Bull Creek and returned to the United States and in 1982 Ron Nugent was called and ordained as Teaching Elder at our church. He faithfully served at WPC Bull Creek until 1993. You can read a wonderful document called Westminster Presbyterian Church -25 Years On 1970 - 1995 compiled by Mark Mayhill. He resigned in 1996 and returned to the USA. On the 11th October 1992, Indonesian worship services commenced at WPC Bull Creek. The Word of God was preached, often in English and translated until Paulus Surya commenced as Pastor for the WPC Indonesian congregation in 1995. We praise God for the Indonesian congregation and for Paulus's, ministry amongst them to this day. In 1996 Pastor Steve Schoof and his wife Beth were called and in November 1996 Steve was installed as Teaching Elder at WPC Bull Creek. We are abundandtly blessed and thankful to the Lord for Steve and Beth's ministry among us today.
